The winners keep on coming for Brideoake Racing!!!

(Strike Rate over 21% - Top 20 Vic Metropolitan 2010/11)

The most recent results and news surrounding the Brideoake Racing runners are:

  • A Listed home town quinella for Brideoake Racing! Stable stars I'm Jake and Dance With Her ran their opponent's ragged to run first and second in the Listed Ansett Classic over 2400m on Grand Final Day (01 Oct). I'm Jake was always in control of the race where jockey Ben Melham was given and armchair ride by the son of Pins before he coasted to the line for an easy 2.3L win. Dance With Her and Dwayne Dunn were as gutsy as ever chasing I'm Jake all the way to the line for a well deserved black type placing for the mare by Al Maher.
  • Jugahlation went for a well earned break after his almost perfect end to his campaign at Sale on the 25th Aug. In a strong showcase race over 1200m this consistent son of Lago Delight fought all the way to the line for a brave half length second to a horse who went on to win another 2 in a row! Luke had seven starts for two city wins, a Flemington third and another two minor placing's!
  • After winning at Caulfield in early July big mare Dance With Her went on to run five consecutive placing's at Saturday city grade (one at listed level) where she arguably should have won two of those four - they included:
    • a fighting 2nd over 1800m at Caulfield on 30 July;
    • a terribly unlucky 2nd at Flemington on 6 Aug after being 3 and 4 wide in a five horse field!
    • a short half head 2nd at Moonee Valley on the 20th Aug over 2040m;
    • a brave second to Bendigo Cup winner Tanby over 2500m at Moonee Valley on the 10th Sep; and
    • a courageous second to stablemate I'm Jake  in the Listed Ansett Classic at Mornington on Grand Final Day!
  • Biancon Rose atoned for her unlucky third at Caulfield the start before by returning to the same venue on the 13th August 2011 to out away a smart field of fillies and mares over 1400m. Ridden a treat by champion jockey Craig Williams the striking mare never looked in doubt when she rounded them up at the top of the straight to win running away by almost 3L!
  • After stalwarts Dance With Her and Biancon Rose were unlucky at Caulfield on the same day, Sir Paragon sent the stable out on a winning note for the season with a tough 1.0L win over 2000m at Donald on the 30th July. He had been knocking on the door at his first two runs for the Brideoake Team however luck did not go his way and he had to settle for a couple of minor placings. Saturday was his day however with jockey Daniel Moor giving the son of Keeper a sweet ride in behind the speed.
  • Jugahlation returned to his favourite track in Sandown on the 27th July to salute at the juicy odds of 10-1. It was the first time the gelding had stepped up to 1300m and by 250m he had put 2L on the field and was strong all the way to the line to win comfortably. His second city win this time in along with a tough third at Flemington back in June.
  • Star filly Warm Love  backed up a week after her tough third in the Monash to put away a small but classy open class field at Flemington on the 23rd July - see photo left. The flying daughter of Octagonal was taken on early by a 50-1 pop before putting him to bed and striding clear at the 300m. Stuck on arguably the slowest part of the straight in the fence our little champ fought off the Mark Kavanagh and heavily fancied Definitely Ready to come away on the line for a tough but classy half length win!
  • Biancon Rose  made it a Saturday metropolitan double for Brideoake Racing when she overcame a bad start and trouble in running to storm home and beat a quality field of 3yo fillies at Caulfield on the 16th July 2011. It was an early double for the team after flying mare Dance With Her saluted in the first race of the day! After Warm Love ran a bold first up third in the Listed Sir John Monash stakes the team went home with a smile on their face after a brilliant day in the office. With only 13 horses in the stable currently racing it was an amazing achievement to take three to the city and come home with two wins and a Listed third!
  • Dance With Her - Again! Our mare lived up to her name toying with her rivals (and open sex) over 2000m at Caulfield on 16th July 2011. After a terribly unlucky fourth at her previous start this big striding mare bounced back with her third city win in her last four starts and fifth for the season in total. A remarkable achievement in itself!
  • Bianconni filly Biancon Rose returned to the track at Sandown on the 6th July after a nice autumn break on the grass at home at Wellington Park. Her track work indicated she had come back a bigger ans stronger filly and she didn't disappoint with a dashing 2.3L win over 1200m, beating a hot priced favourite easily!
  • After his brilliant win at Sandown ten days earlier Jugahlation ventured to headquarters on the 25th June for a 3yo race over 1200m. In what ended up being a hot field Jugahlation arguably came up the wrong part of the straight to claim third after suffering a little interference at the 350m. The winner had all the favours down the outside rail and our gelding's performance was full of merit under the circumstances!
  • Back to Back city wins for Jill!! Improving mare Dance With Her made it two in a row in town with another strong display over 2040m at Moonee Valley on the 18th June. It was her first Saturday metropolitan victory and it wouldn't be the last after her 2.0L victory!
  • Two from Two in town for Brideoake racing! Promising 3yo gelding Jugahlation returned from a freshen up on the 15th June with a very strong win over 1000m at Sandown. Aided by another smart ride from Dwayne Dunn 'Luke' enjoyed a cosy run in behind the speed early before getting clear over the last 300m to win running away by an easy 3.8L. A thoroughly and overdue maiden city win for this son of Lago Delight.
  • After her devastating 6L win at Kyneton two week's earlier Dance With Her headed to Moonee Valley on Wednesday the 8th June 2011 for that elusive city win. The big mare didn't disappoint with fighting nose win over 2040m. Jockey Dwayne Dunn controlled the early pace before being clearly headed over the last 200m to fight back and win with the last bound on the line. It was Dwayne Dunn at his best!
  • The 31st May was a tough day at the office for the Brideoake Team as four runners headed up the Hume to target the Wodonga meeting. David was confident of a very good day at the track, however after little luck in three of the four race we had to settle with just one placing, two hard luck stories and a fighting fifth.
  • Giant mare Dance With Her ventured to Kyneton on the 24th May 2011 for a crushing 6L win over 1888m. Ridden by leading NZ jockey Michael Walker the daughter of Al Maher was never in doubt as she kicked clear at the 500m and never looked back. It was a pleasing result after three arguably unlucky runs heading in to the race.
  • Four weeks after his big win at the same venue I'm Jake stepped up to the two miles for the first time in the $200,000 Listed Andrew Ramsden Stakes. After working hard for the majority of the trip I'm Jake put four lengths on the field as they headed for home to be run down over the last 100m by emerging stayer Niwot. It was a super effort from the gelding and bigger things look in store for him in the spring of 2011.
  • After a couple of unlucky placings the New Zealand gelding I'm Jake put on a strong staying performance to win comfortably over 2600m at Flemington on Anzac Day. The $100,000 William Newton VC Handicap was a one act affair as this son of Pins quickly put three lengths on the field at the top of the famous Flemington straight.
  • Five winners from the last six for David Brideoake! Perlight made it back to back wins with a strong win over 1400m at Tatura on the 20th March 2011. Up in grade and trapped on the fence around the tight Tatura track, jockey Stephen Baster bullocked the little mare in to the clear at the 200m and she stormed home for a great win.
  • And another winner for Brideoake Racing! After being beaten by the track at Sandown at his previous run the ultra consistent son of Pins, I'm Jake won by over 4L at Werribee on Cup day on the 18th march 2011. He gave nothing else a chance from the 400m and justified his short quote of $1.90.
  • The winners keep coming! Giant mare Dance With Her produced a brilliant run to win a showcase event over 1600m at Bendigo on the 16th March 2011. After two unlucky runs prior to the win Dance With Her put 4L on her rivals at the top of the long Bendigo straight to go on and win by 1.8L.
  • A Group 3 to Shylight!! After three promising runs back from a spell talented filly Shylight went to Adelaide to contest the G3 Auraria Stakes over 1800m. Ridden by Glen Boss she took off at the 800m to sustain a long sweeping run to win by a nose from highly rated 3yo Southern Speed, collecting an important black type to her name and $73,000 in prize money. (see photo - left)
  • Gutsy little mare Perlight showed it wasn't just her little sister Shylight who could produce a run when she saluted over 1400m at Wangaratta on the 6th mar 2011. After two unlucky runs returning from a long spell jockey Adam McCabe made a long run from the 800m to hold off the challengers in a good fighting win.
  • NZ stayer I'm Jake joined the team in February 2011 and immediately showed us his quality with a flying fourth over 1600m at Moonee Valley in his Australian debut, followed by a very strong second over 2400m at Sandown on the 2nd March 2011.
  • Third to Black Caviar! Warm Love finished her summer campaign with a tenacious third behind champion mare Black Caviar and Hay List in the Group One Lightning Stakes at Flemington on the 19th Feb 2011.
  • Shylight backed up her dashing first up win with two close seconds in a row over 1400m at Seymour (13/2/11) and Sandown (23/02/11) respectively.
  • Top 3 finish again! Jugahlation went back to Moonee Valley on the 11th Feb 2011 with a strong 2.5L third in good 3yo company over 955m.
  • On the 30th Jan 2011 big Al Samer colt Le Samer made an encouraging debut for third over 1200m at Cranbourne. He went straight to listed company in Tasmania after that, running sixth behind star 2yo Golden Archer in the $150,000 Gold Sovereign Stakes on an unsuitable greasy slow track.

  • The winners keep on coming for Brideoake Racing with exciting filly Shylight returning from a spell in devastating fashion at Mornington on the 28th Jan 2011. Resuming over 1223m after a 17 week spell this daughter of Lago Delight looked fresh in the mounting yard pre race (see photo on left), and after 600m of running, the race was over as she had lengths on her rivals on her home track. After being slow out of the gates jockey Peter Mertens quickly hunted the filly up to about fifth where she over raced a little and fought Peter for more rein. After not being able to hold Shylight for any longer Peter let the filly stride to the lead 500m from home where she quickly put 4L on the rest of the field. After turning in to the straight with a huge lead Peter rode her hands and heels all the way to the line in what looked like a track gallop for this exciting filly. The official margin was 5l, however it could have been a lot more if Peter had asked Shylight to open up over the last 200m. Stay tuned as Shylight looks to take on the best fillies in Victoria over the coming weeks.

  • Another winner for Brideoake Racing - with an amazing strike rate of 20% (so far for 2010/11) Brideoake Racing produced another winner on Australia Day with the promising filly Biancon Rose recording her second career win from only 5 starts at Sale over 1400m. After drawing another wide gate (10) jockey Ivan Culliver used all of his skill and experience to boot 'Brenda' home for a convincing 1.5L win. This filly looks to have a bright future ahead and will now step up in Class and make a trip to town for some fillies grade races over the autumn.

  • The Brideoake Racing show rolls on in early 2011 with Jugahlation finally getting his well overdue and well deserved win (first for the campaign so far). After four luckless runs where he arguably should have won three, Jugahlation scored a hard fought win in a good quality 0-62 at Cranbourne on Sunday 23rd Jan 2011. After flying the gates from the inside barrier top young jockey Andrew Mallyon was caught up in a 3-way battle for the lead through the first 250m of the race. Continuing to be pestered for the entire first half of the race Jugahlation shook off his rivals from the 300m were he sprinted hard and quickly put up 2-lengths before holding on for a strong half head win over the flying (and well fancied) runners from the Peter Moody and Nikki Burke stables. It was a great reward for a horse who has been so consistent through every one of his runs this time in. Look out for 'Luke' at Moonee Valley on Friday the 11th Feb 2011, when he returns for a change of luck in Heat 13 of the 955m sprint series!

  • Goodbye ole Champ'! Cape D'amore ran his last race over 2000m at Flemington on the 15th Jan 2011. It was a brave comeback by the Albury Cup and Flemington winner who had returned in Dec 2010 from a serious leg injury that occurred in 2009.  He is now enjoying retirement on the Mornington Peninsula being spoilt and loving life!

  • Another unlucky placing for Jugahlation. 'Luke' as he is known to the team at Brideoake Racing ventured to Moonee Valley on Friday the 14th Jan 2011 to take his part in heat 10 of the lucrative 955m sprint series. After enjoying a nice run in transit (sitting 4th) Group One winning jockey Dwayne Dunn was desperately looking for a run from the 350m as Jugahlation was travelling beautifully and some of the early leaders started to tire in front of him. After finally getting out at the 250m and balancing up he sprinted hard to go down by the narrowest of margins (officially 2nd by a nose). Another super effort from the improving 3yo gelding out of Lago Delight.

  • Warm Love stepped up to open company and black type racing when a gallant half length second to the group one placed Grand Duels in the Listed Kensington Stakes over 1000m at Flemington on Saturday the 22nd Jan 2011. After doing all the work and carting the field up the long Flemington straight 'Olive' ran her heart out to go down fighting by a narrow margin - with the winner enjoy a cosy run and receiving all the favours in behind the speed and with cover.

  • Continuing a great run for the Brideoake Racing Team was the Al Maher 2yo filly Kasmaher who made her debut at Mornington on the 21st Jan 2011 with a strong second behind a smart 2yo from the Freedman camp. She looks set to have a very bright future ahead and she has just left for the paddock at home on Wellington Park for further time to mature and develop.

  • Three in a row! Warm Love returned to Flemington on the 15th Jan 2010 to blow her 3yo rivals away with another breathtaking performance over 1000m. After flying out of the gates apprentice Jordan Mallyon kept looking around from the 400m for the challengers to come, but not to the surprise of the team at Brideoake Racing they never came and Warm Love booted away for an easy 3L win!

See - 'Warm Love Does it again'

  • Jugahlation ventured to Pakenham on the 8th Jan 2011 for another luckless placing (second by a nose) over 1000m. After enduring a tough run in transit the gelding wound up powerfully over the last 200m to go down by the narrowest of margins. A win is just around the corner for this horse.

  • Brideoake Racing entered 2011 on a winning note when Warm Love made it two Saturday class metropolitan wins in a row scoring an easy 1.7L victory over 1100m at Caulfield on the 8th Jan 2011. Ridden a treat by Dwayne Dunn 'Olive' led from pillar to post in what ended up being an armchair ride for the group one winning jockey.

  • Progressive gelding Jugahlation returned to the track after a 19 week break with a fast finishing 3rd over 1000m at Bairnsdale on the 20th December 2010. After being shuffled back at the 600m this son of Lago Delight never got warm until the last 150m where he closed rapidly on the leaders to get within 2l on the line.

  • Stable star Warm Love (Octagonal/Charangas) returned to form with a scintillating win first up over 1000m at Flemington on the 18th December 2010. After a troublesome spring campaign Warm Love powered away and never looked in doubt over the short course to record a fast 2.5L win.

  • The striking 3yo filly by Bianconi called Biancon Rose broke through at just her third race start over 1200m at Moe on the 17th Dec 2010. After drawing a wide gate on the tight Moe track jockey and being caught wide through the early part, Ivan Culliver steered the filly towards the lead where she fought on strongly for a good 1.3L win.

  • Coming off his strong maiden win Copy Rites ran a very good 3rd at Tatura on an unsuitable Heavy 9 track on the 5th December 2010.

  • After a very unlucky 3rd at his debut at Pakenham on the 25th October, 3yo gelding Copy Rites (Delago Brom/Scenic Lil) broke through for a tough win over 1200m at Kilmore on Saturday the 20th Nov 2010. He looks to have a bright future ahead.

  • The city performed mare Street Belle continues to build an impressive record and on the 10th Oct 2010 she ran a slashing 2nd over 1500m at the big Cranbourne Cup meeting. She came from near to last on the turn to flash home for a fast finishing second in what was a very strong race. The winner went on to win a $100,000 race on Melbourne Cup Day.

  • The Canny Lad filly Position Ex made her debut at Pakenham on the 28th Sep 2010 where she ran a very unlucky 2nd over 1000m. After being caught wide and held up for a run the filly was in front a stride before and after the post with the official result being a nose second. Position Ex is a younger full sister to the Brideoake Racing stakes winner Pantenny

  • Street Belle backed up her brilliant win earlier in the month for a classy 2.5L at Geelong over 1300m on the 24th Sep 2010. Racing out of her class in a 0-72 the daughter of Street Cry was simply too good for her rivals.

  • The big filly Shylight (Lago Delight x Be My Person) broke through at only her fourth race start over the mile at Bairnsdale on the 11th Sep 2010. After a slow start from the gate jockey Daniel Moor quickly put her to sleep towards the rear of the field before rounding them up at the home turn to win running away by over 3.8L.

  • Street Belle recorded her second career win at only her ninth career start when a brilliant 1L winner over 1300m at Geelong on the 5th Sep 2010. After being a dual city place getter in her first three starts, Street Belle is starting to put it all together and is building a very tidy race record.

  • At just her third career start (after two runs on Heavy 10 surfaces in town) Shylight showed her potential with a fighting 2nd at Sale over 1430m. Finally striking a firm surface this Lago Delight filly bred at home on Wellington Park is starting to really show her ability on the track.

  • Dance With Her backed up her brilliant win in early August 2010 with another fighting 2nd over 1700m on a Heavy 9 track at Sale. After doing all the work she looked the winner rounding the home turn however the city performed Great Player was too strong down to the line.

  • The big Al Maher mare Dance With Her broke through for a well overdue second career win on the 5th Aug 2010 at Sale over 1600m. On the slow rated track 'Jill' sat around midfield in running before dashing to the lead around the home corner to win running away by 2L.

  • On the 13th July 2010, the 3yo filly Street Belle broke through for a well overdue maiden will at Sale over 1400m. Ridden by one of Melbourne's top jockey's Street Belle settle off the pace before unleashing a powerful sprint to the line where she saluted by over 2.8L.

  • Princess Rage continues to show her promise with a fast finishing 4th in the $100,000 Rivette Series Final at Flemington on the 10th of July 2010. After settling rearward in running jockey Dean Yendall had to steady off heels of other runners at the 1400m causing the filly to become unbalanced an lose a couple of lengths. After balancing up and rounding the turn Princess Rage let down with a strong sprint to finish a somewhat unlucky 4th.

  • Jugahlation, a son of Lago Delight broke through for his maiden win at just his second career start when saluting at Sale on the 1st July 2010. In heavy conditions this speedy customer let down after straightening to pull right away and win by over 4L. Watch out for his 2011 summer campaign.
