Here are just some of David's highlights so far during his training career:
GRAND JOURNEY: 'Jane' purchased as a yearling by David for $6,500 from the Inglis Autumn Yearling Sale, she went on to run 5th in the 2007 VRC Oaks during the coveted Melbourne Spring Carnival. David's good judgement and original thoughts then sent the young filly over to the West where she dominated winning the 2008 Listed Natasha Stakes, the Group 2 2008 W.A Oaks and finally the Group 1 2008 W.A Derby. CAPE D'AMORE: This now 6yo son of Cape Cross has had 32 starts and been in the money 17 times with prize money now standing at over $200,000. After winning the 2009 Listed Albury Cup, Cape D'amore went on to win at Flemington over 2000m on Makybe Diva Stakes day in Sep 2009. Shortly thereafter 'Bob' suffered an injury that has seen him on the recovery trail for the last 12 months. He is now back on track and in the stables for another tilt at the Albury Cup in 2011. WARM LOVE - 'Olive' was hand picked by David and bought through the sales ring at a bargain price in early 2009. Now, with only 7 starts to date in her short career thus far Warm Love (Octagonal/Charangas) has already won a stakes race in Adelaide (Queen Adelaide Stakes - Listed) and run a slashing 3rd to subsequent Golden Slipper winner Crystal Lily in the listed Blue Diamond Preview. Her prize money is already over $80,000. PANTENNY - This daughter of Canny Lad was a stakes winning mare in Perth and a city winner in Melbourne. With a career spanning 26 starts, Pantenny won over $220,000 in prize money and is now enjoying life as a broodmare and is in foal on David's property 'Wellington Park'. DAKA'S GEM: This grand old galloper was retired in early 2010, incredibly as a 10yo. His career consisted of an amazing 97 starts with 38 placings and over $750,000 in prize money. Aside from the numerous metropolitan placing's the most recent achievement by 'Daka' before retirement was a powerful win in the Listed Ballarat Cup in 2008. SOVEREIGN MISS: Coming to David in late 2006 this daughter of Made Of Gold was a multiple city winning mare in Melbourne and Adelaide who was retired in mid-2008 as an 8yo. A winner of over $315,000 she was Group 2 placed over 2000m at Flemington during the 2007 Spring Carnival (2nd - Hilton International Stakes). RAVEN PROTECTOR: This fast mare by Hector Protector was a multiple city winner who accumulated over $200,000 in prize money. Now an 11yo she is enjoying life as a broodmare on David's property after retiring in 2005 - we look forward to seeing her progeny hit the race tracks each year.
